Here is a collection of Florida day-trip articles I wrote for a variety of newspapers and magazines (most appeared in my weekly column in The Citrus Chronicle). Many of these also appeared in either The St. Petersburg Times or Afternoon Adventures, a travel magazine we published which was given out at hundreds of locations throughout northwest and central Florida (such as rest stops, motels, etc.).

I own the rights to all these articles, so I thought I would share. EVERY one of these destinations can be reached from Lake Placid in about 2 hours or less, which makes them "Afternoon Adventures."
